18/365 Diagnosis? Fibroadenoma?

18/365 Diagnosis? Fibroadenoma?

Today I had my first ever mammogram. This was to diagnose a lump found on my breast. After some time in the Diagnostic Center I was told that it was most likely Fibroadenoma. A tumor that is normally benign. But there are rare cases where the tumor is malignant. I'm one of the people that may fall into this category. After looking at the imagery the doctor gave me a of 3 on the tumor grade scale (scale of 1-4). The cells of Grade 3 or Grade 4 tumors are usually poorly differentiated or undifferentiated high-grade tumors, and are generally the most aggressive in behavior.

So what does that mean? Next week I'll have a biopsy of the lump. Plain and simple. I'll get the results back in 5-10 business days and I'll know more then.

17/365 Lizard Suicide attempt.

17/365 Lizard Suicide attempt.

It's always interesting at the Olsen home. Today after church, I came in to find Tina (one of our cats) with a live lizard in her mouth. That little guy will regret the day he stepped in to the garage inhabited by three cats. Can you say LUNCH?

So Tina caught the lizard and brought it into the house (through the cat door) to play with. I spotted the little green thing running across my living room floor quickly fallowed by an orange streak that was obviously my youngest cat bringing me a prize. After chasing Tina down for a few minutes I finally cornered her and the lizard and put it in this yellow gift bag. Grabbed my camera and ran out to set it free.

This makes the second lizard in a week that the cats have brought in for mommy. Only the first was gobbled up by Bubs before I could do anything about it. Lucky for this guy I was home to rescue him where others have not been so lucky.

16/365 Fun at the Fountain. Not At The Mall

16/365 Fun at the Fountain. Not At The Mall

With gift cards in hand, our family made a trip the the Mall of the Mainland. I say that with two thumbs down. This place is a ghost town waiting to happen. I can count on my hands the number of stores that are still open. In a few days several more will be closing. The only real reason a person would want to go there is for it's lack luster movie theater. But we go because it's cheep.

The highlight of our day was visiting the Walden Books that was closing in a few days and had everything on clearance and letting the girls watch the water fountain. Ariana really seamed to enjoy it.

Ariana is a water drinker just like her Mommy. In an hour, she put away 4 sippies full of water. That's my girl!

14/365 Only Doctors Can Tell.

14-365 Only Doctors Can Tell.

Sorry... I can't really explain this shot right now. All I can say is that I'm going through a hard physical issue right now and that today was a big day for me. I'm sad, confused, and waiting. I'll update every few days.

I'm really glad I've decided to do my 365 this year. I really think this is helping me through this tough time. It seems like it's the only thing I can focus on a side from what is physically ailing me.

13/365 My Lovies

13/365 My Lovies

Yesterday, you may remember I made new tube tops to be used in the studio. Well today I gave them a test run (along with two new hair bows that I made today) and I'm happy to say my girls would live in them if I'd let them. It's so rewarding when you see something you put time into, make someone so happy. Oh... yeah... and Valentine's day is a month away. The girls can't wait to hand out Valentine cards.

Today I pulled out the trusty ol' sewing machine and threw together two new Valentine's Day tube tops for the studio. I plan on using them tomorrow for day 13. Lets see how they turn out.

11/365 7.3 Miles At The Galleria Mall

11/365 7.3 Miles At The Galleria Mall

Today I made the dreaded trip to the Galleria Mall that I've been avoiding for weeks. This place is HUGE and it's amazing it doesn't have it's own zip code. This day alone I walked a mire 7.3 miles. The Disney Store was the main reason for going on this adventure and I don't think I could have chosen a better day to go. Every other time I've gone to this mall I've spent a half hour looking for parking. This day I found a spot right at the door. No real searching. It was easy to navigate today, normally I can't get my stroller in there.

Christmas this year my Dad and I both bought the same gifts for Ariana. She loves Minnie Mouse and The Disney Store is the only place I can really find gifts for her. So after holding back for a few weeks I found my self making the journey. We enjoyed walking around the store and picking out new gifts, including totally cute pink glitter Minnie shoes.

While making our trek amongst the fancy stores... Valentino, Armani, Gucci etc. We stopped to watch the skaters at the ice rink. If you ever ask Alana what she wants to be when she grows up she'll tell you "Ballerina Kitty DR. Ice Skating Pirate!" This has been locked in her head for two years I don't think that will change any time soon. Every time someone skated past her she waved with tons of enthusiasm and stated how talented they were. Got to love it.

10/365 Alana on The Up And Up

10/365 Alana On The Up and Up

Alana seems to be feeling better today.  Her nose is not running as bad, but her face is still swollen and broken out.  I feel terrible for her. It's painful to wash or put medicine on.  It's so hard to see your child in such misery.  Today she was in SPUNKIER spirits and I can only hope this is a sign she'll be better in a few days.

9/365 Baby It's Cold Outside

9/365 Baby It's Cold Outside

What do you think of when you hear the name HOUSTON? Football? Cowboys? Heat/Humidity? Well not this week. The thought going through the minds of just about everyone in the Houston Area is thinking about "HOW FREAKING COLD IT IS"

WHAT? Cold in Houston? That's right! It is down right COLD in Texas gulf coast right now. 27 degrees to be exact. Now, I've been in Texas for 4 1/2 years and have never seen such an event like I've seen in the last two days.

We started the day off by taking Ariana out side to see her reaction to the frigid temperatures. She didn't seem to mind the cold. It was the countless layers she didn't like. She reminded me of Randy from "A Christmas Story". I couldn't have wrapped a Cuban Cigar any tighter. Poor kid.

After I took Ariana to a fun birthday party I noticed my neighbors pipes had busted. They had already taken care of it but were pretty shook up. Then I headed out to the store to pick up a few things and when I returned my other neighbor (two houses down) had a HUGE geyser shooting out the side of their house. Sadly they weren't home. So we just shut the water off for them. I'm just praying tomorrow's post is not of my covered in freezing water. Cross your fingers we're spared.

8/365 Hiding Her Face

8/365 Hiding Her Face

It seams like once every other month Alana gets a terrible runny nose. When this happens she breaks out into a rash on her face that is quite scary looking. Today Alana desperately wanted to be in my picture of the day. The catch? No face shots. So with this new chair... "THINGY" (not sure what it's called) we got for free from a friend today Alana posed, hiding her face ever so discreetly. Pore baby!

7/365 Guilty!

7/365 Guilty!

Yes, GUILTY! Tonight I had a nice healthy dinner only to spoil it by eating a HUGE piece of chocolate moose pie for desert. Body... will you ever forgive me?

6/365 Nerdy Candy Girl

6/365 Nerdy Candy Girl
Alana is so happy school is back in session after a long break for Christmas. Today she dressed in her "NERDY BEST". Her "PRE-SCHOOL ROCKS!" shirt, plaid pants, pink glitter Converse, My Grandma's old glasses and pig tails. She topped off the ensemble with a giant lollie pop that she later dropped and shattered into a million peaces. Alana LOVES to learn...a trait I'm hoping will fallow her the rest of her life.

5/365 Dress-up time with Ariana

5-365 Dress-up time with Ariana
Ok... I know. I used the door again. I wanted to show it's potential. So before my client comes to the house I wanted to be sure I was 100% set on using it. Ariana was playing dress up so I put her in front of it and shot away. I'm very pleased with the out come. The door is much more than I had expected. The other side of the door is still white, so I'll be painting that in the future.

4/365 Me and the door I just painted

4/365 Me and the door I just painted
Check it out!  I've been wanting a distressed door forever.  So today I went to the hardware store and picked one out to be my new project.  It took several hours and I about froze my butt off. But when it was all done I can proudly say that it was worth the time and effort I put into it.  I have a new born session tomorrow and can't wait to use it.

3/365 Alana and Bubs A movie in bed

3/365 Alana and Bubs A movie in bed
Today was a lazy day after church. Alana, Bubs and I laid in my bed and watched "Tinkerbell and the Lost Treasure." I love how both of them watched the screen in a trance like state. Of course I fell asleep shortly after I took this shot. Go figure.

2/365 A man's Victory Nap

Today was a day of sweet victory for my husband. He met one of his new year resolutions in only two days... Get organized. Now we can store our junk in an... err... "ORGANIZED" manor.

Here you see him, resting on the creation he built. Ain't she a beauty? Strong too!

1/365 New Year Resolution

Happy New Year to all my friends! May all your goals be met and your days filled with joy.

Today is day 1 of 365 days of photos of me and or my family.  I'm excited for this journey and can't wait to see what this year will bring.

1/365 New Year Resolution

0/365 X Marks the Spot...

... that I decided to start another project 365. Last time I did "Things" as my theme. This time I've decided to focus on my family. I think It will make a great gift to remember something we did every day for a year. Like a photo journal if you will.

The goal: To take one picture a day of either my self, my husband, or my kids. NO EXCEPTIONS!

Cross your fingers that I make it through this one. :-) It's going to be a fun ride!
